Snowmobiling

A couple of weeks ago jessie and I took a trip to Ephraim to visit Joe, Kjirsten, and family and had a great time. We also had the fabulous chance of going snowmobiling, being pampered, and being fed gourmet meals daily. We are glad joe let us go have some fun with him. It was lots of fun and we enjoyed every second.

Proposal!

I am hesitant sharing my engagement story over blogging because I am not very strong in writing like Abbi, Audra, Jessi, Mom, or the many other great blogging people out there. I would rather just read and not write blogs but Jessie wanted me to do it, so here it goes.

I had selected the rings Jessie wanted in November, but she wanted four unique wedding bands, and I had to have them specialty made so they wouldn’t be ready until January 3rd, or so I thought. January 3rd came and went and no rings; It wasn’t that big of a deal because I hadn’t formally asked her dad for her hand yet. I asked here dad and got the approval and still no rings. I got one a couple days after that and finally received the other three on a Tuesday afternoon. That night I asked Jessie on a date for Friday night in which she immediately asked sarcastically, “Are you going to propose?” I tried to be the best lier I could and played my best card of, “You need a ring to propose and we haven’t gone ring shopping yet.” She played along but still gave me a questioning look.

I then organized her friends and brother to head up to rock canyon park at 6:30 where I would propose. I equipped her friends and brother with romantic pictures of us, a lantern so we could see them, and a camera to take pictures. I also recruited my roommate and sister to be strategically placed at rock canyon park as well with some music in hand to play while I proposed.

Jessie and I planned to go ring shopping before going to dinner. I again stretched the truth and told her our dinner reservations were at 6:30 when they were actually at 7:15. I lucked out going ring shopping as she showed interest in the styles I had already purchased, fewsh! After ring shopping I spilled the news about dinner not being till 7:15 and came up with the story that Abbi and Chad had called me early in the week and wanted me to go up to rock canyon park to check out snow shoeing trail-heads. She became more and more on to my plans the closer we got to the park, even padding-down my pockets to see if I had any ring shaped boxes in my pockets. I thwarted off her attempts and made it to the spot I was going to propose. I got down on one knee, told her she was my everything and asked her if she would marry me and make me her everything. She said yes! Laura, Brock (her friends), Lance (her brother), Loren (my roommate), and Abbi were then all invited out to take pictures and congratulate us. We took some pictures until we were nearly frozen and then went to have a nice dinner together with the whole group. We spent the remainder of the night playing games, calling family, visiting her sister who was in town, and listening and dancing to our favorite music. She loves to play games and dance so it was fun. I tried to make the proposal romantic, unique, and fun for the most charming, unique, fun, and drop dead gorgeous girl in the world. I hope it was the proposal of her dreams.
